Host a Free Tax Preparation Site
The Earn It. Keep It. Save It. Initiative continually grows due to the support from community partners and newly established partnerships. One avenue of assisting in this effort is to host a free tax preparation site.
Minimum site requirements include:
- Computer Lab with Internet Access
- Technical Support
- Waiting Room
- Allotted time in computer lab for VITA only
- A small lockable cabinet or storage to store supplies and materials
Benefits:
- Statewide and local exposure
- Community involvement
- Use as a funding and marketing tactic for your organization
- Assist low-to moderate-income households receive the EITC and help to distribute millions of dollars into our local economy
- Supplies and materials will be provided
Other Requests:
- Allow a presentation to be held at your site for staff, board and others to learn about the program and to answer any questions.
- Nominate a member of staff, or other qualified member, to represent your organization at the local coalition.
- Encourage staff, board and others to become a VITA Volunteer.
- Distribute materials to low-to moderate-income individuals and families who visit your site.
